Mission: To teach, develop, and offer youth players the opportunity to learn the fundamental skills of basketball while instilling life-lessons and values such as character, team work, discipline, respect and sportsmanship. Our goal is to empower young athletes to take it to the next level.

Overview: Opportunities are available for a recreational player looking to enhance their skills while playing for fun to an advanced player with a competitive desire and passion to become a complete player both physically and mentally.

Session 1: This session is a recreational-based program designed to introduce the game of basketball to beginners in Kindergarten all the way through 8th grade. The program focuses on teaching and developing basic fundamental skills, having fun and learning the values of being part of a team and displaying good sportsmanship. This session is open to all kids and skill level with the intent to create equally split teams per division. Practices will vary depending on age. K-2 can expect 1 practice time a week, 3-8th grade can expect 2 practices a week plus weekly games.

Session 2: This session exposes and offers kids a higher level of competition while developing fundamental basketball skills. Player development is stressed and disciplined, team-oriented play is emphasized. Practice time and advanced training are provided to enhance the skills of each player with the goal and vision of having players ready to play at the next level. This session includes our travel teams and will be invite only by committee based on skill level.

Non-Profit: Baranof Ballers is a non-profit organization under the umbrella of the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU)we are a 501(c) 3 tax exempt youth basketball clublocated in Sitka, Alaska Baranof Ballers

Session 2

Session 2 has started and will end on April 7th. Kids that are selected for a session 2 team could be on a Juneau travel team or a Hoops and Herring Sitka team. Some kids will even play on teams in both tournaments. See the league information tab for more info on session 2.

If your kid was selected for a session 2 team, please LOGIN to your account and then register for their division on the registration tab. The registration tab will not appear until you login. Players should not be registered by clicking on the hoops and herring tab. The hoops and herring registration is for team registration by coaches or team organizers.
